Kinesiology taping
Kinesiology tape is an elastic fabric bandage that is applied to the skin. The tape follows the movements of the skin and acts like an elastic band when stretched.
The tapes are often applied to the skin in strips along the course of muscles and are intended to influence muscle function.
Other application techniques can have an influence on the function of joints, lymph channels or fasciae.
Depending on how the tape is applied, the tissue under the skin, such as muscles, tendons, fascia, joints and lymph, can be influenced in different ways.
In my experience, athletes can benefit from taping kinetic or myofascial functional chains, e.g. with stronger movements and increased fine coordination. Movements are stabilized and the risk of injury can be reduced. Individual phases of a movement sequence can also be manipulated. Training becomes efficient.
I use taping not only for diseases and problems of the musculoskeletal system, but also for the treatment of internal organs or gynecological complaints.
Special tapes can supplement the effect of normal tape bandages on acupuncture points or along meridians (acu-taping).
I am also happy to work with Peha-haft® support bandages.
I also use kinesiology taping to accompany other therapies. For example, it is used to supplement osteopathic treatment or as part of a sports medicine intervention.
