The body as a whole!
Osteopathy was discovered over 120 years ago by the American doctor Andrew Taylor Still. The high diagnostic level of osteopathy very quickly led to worldwide recognition, which is still growing today.
Osteopathy is a holistic therapy – from the muscles, bones, joints and fascia to the organs, connective tissue, skin and your emotional and psychological state. The special thing about osteopathy is the depth and accuracy of the diagnosis. Functional disorders and physical misalignments are detected and treated with the hands.
Osteopathy is based on three pillars:
- Musculoskeletal system
- Internal organs
- Harmony between the head and sacrum (the craniosacral system)
Osteopathic bodywork
Osteopathic bodywork begins with a consultation and a thorough examination. The treatment is carried out with the hands. Special techniques are used to stimulate the body’s self-healing powers in the event of tension and restricted movement.
A treatment lasts approx. 60 minutes. The intervals between treatments depend on the respective symptoms. At the beginning of the therapy, the treatments are 1-2 weeks apart. As the therapy progresses, the interval increases to six to eight weeks. Experience has shown that the symptoms should have improved sustainably after 4 treatments. To maintain the therapy goals, a follow-up appointment is possible 1-2 times a year.
A combination with other therapies such as acupuncture or taping can support the success of the therapy.
Please note:
Unfortunately, very few health insurance companies currently reimburse the costs of osteopathic treatments in full or in part.
