Pain

Pain is a sensory perception that signals immediate danger and forces us to react.

But the perception of pain is much more than that.

We can feel pain even if no structures are damaged. Faulty biomechanical processes cause pain and can indicate malfunctions. For example, everyone has experienced that an unnatural posture when standing, sitting or lying down can cause pain.

Emotional processes can also find expression in pain. This can be a headache caused by stress or a serious accident many years ago. The body uses pain as a means of communication or as a warning signal.

Pain is also a component of inflammation, which occurs when foreign bodies penetrate the tissue or tissue is injured. Inflammation is a normal healing process, but can get out of control in certain situations.

Many people with chronic or regular pain often have a long history of suffering with many examinations and treatments from various specialists or other therapists behind them.

Chronic pain is no longer just about eliminating pain. Questions about the future and the meaning of life also occupy those affected and must be respected in treatment.

The treatment of chronic or regular pain requires a sequence of 3 phases.

1. acute pain treatment. This is a purely symptomatic treatment. The focus is on alleviating the symptoms.

2 Symptomatic treatment usually has a temporary effect. The most important task now is to find the causes of the actual trigger and the reason why the symptoms have become chronic. This is important for planning a sustainable therapy.

3 This is immediately followed by exercise therapy. Restoration of mobility is achieved through special physiotherapy or individual sports therapy.

In my practice, I use osteopathy, acupuncture and cupping in particular to treat pain.

In the case of structural damage (e.g. joint wear and tear), healing is not always possible or is not desired for various reasons. A successful therapy is always the sustainable establishment of a pain-free everyday life with moderate or appropriate sporting activity.

A major problem in pain therapy is expecting quick results. Various guides on social media often suggest that a cure is quick and easy. However, only ordering products or subscriptions is quick and easy.
