Workshop training for long-COVID patients

On 18 June 2022, the Landessportbund Berlin(LSB) is organizing the Health Forum 2022. The focus of the health forum: “Defying Corona: Staying fit or getting fit in theory and practice”. I will be leading a workshop there on the topic of “Training for long COVID patients”. The event is aimed at therapists, doctors, exercise instructors and interested people.

The LSB’s Health Forum 2022 will be introduced by a medical lecture by Prof. Dr. Klaus Völker from Münster. During the corona pandemic, many people suffered from a lack of exercise, stress or complaints associated with COVID disease. In his lecture, Prof. Dr. Völker shed light on the physical and psychological challenges people faced during the pandemic.

The event will be accompanied by workshops. My workshop will focus on rehabilitation sports for people with Long COVID. Based on my experience in rehabilitation sports, I will describe what targeted training can do for people with Long COVID. The wide range of symptoms sometimes makes it difficult to categorize people with long-COVID in rehabilitation sports. But which training focuses make sense? What do doctors need to consider when prescribing exercise and what can trainers do for complex symptoms? Get to know the different aspects of sport with Long-COVID in theory and practice. Find out which training focuses make sense and how, for example, functional training to improve gait and stability, breathing training, relaxation exercises or fitness training can help.

Other workshops offer practical solutions for dealing with the challenges and after-effects of the pandemic.
